TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Mon/Fayette Construction Requires Low Hill Road Closure

Long-term detour in Centerville Borough, Washington County will begin on Monday.

NEW STANTON, PA (12/12/2008; 1527)(readMedia)-- Construction of the Mon/Fayette Expressway's Uniontown to Brownsville Connector will require the closure of a portion of Low Hill Road (S.R. 2089) in Centerville Borough, Washington County for approximately three years.

The closure of Low Hill Road near Rt. 88 in Lowhill will begin Monday, Dec. 15 at 8 a.m. The ½-mile section of road will remain closed until the fall of 2011 to facilitate Phase 2 construction of the Mon/Fayette Expressway between Uniontown and Brownsville.

Traffic will be detoured approximately 3 miles around the closure area via Main Street, Blaine Avenue, U.S. Route 40 West and Route 88.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the reconstruction of approximately 1/2-mile of new road to connect Low Hill Road to a new intersection with Route 88.
