Temporary Traffic Restrictions Scheduled
for Drilling Work

(Harrisburg)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced today that traffic will be restricted to one lane on sections of Kriebel Road in Towamencin Township and on Bethel Road in Worcester Township beginning Wednesday, December 19 through Friday December 21. Traffic restrictions are being implemented to allow for the completion of core boring work.

The drilling is scheduled to occur between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM each day, weather permitting. During the drilling work, traffic on Kriebel Road between Bustard Road and Sumneytown Pike and on Bethel Road between Morris Road and PA Route 73 will be restricted to one lane. Flag persons will be stationed in the project area to direct traffic flow while work is ongoing.

This work is being completed as part of the early action bridge replacements included in the Northeastern Extension total reconstruction and widening project. A total of seven overhead bridges throughout the 10.5 mile project corridor located between the Mid-County Interchange and Lansdale Interchange in Montgomery County are scheduled to be replaced. Kriebel and Bethel Road bridge replacement projects are scheduled to get underway early January 2008. For additional information please visit the project website at www.paturnpike.com/ConstructionProjects/mpA20toA30. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission urges the public to stay alert and travel at posted speed limits through all construction work areas.
