Turnpike Will Close Exit Lanes 7, 8 and 9
At Harrisburg East Interchange Saturday

HARRISBURG, PA. (FEB. 9, 2007) – Beginning Saturday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 11, lane restrictions will be in effect for exiting traffic at Harrisburg East Interchange, #247.

The far right exit lanes — lanes 7, 8, and 9 — will be taken out of service between 11 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday. Exit lanes 4 and 5 — located to the left of the construction work area — will remain open for exiting traffic.

These restrictions are needed to allow the contractor to install a new overhead sign structure at Harrisburg East. The steel structure will accommodate bright, new LED signs to distinguish E-ZPass and cash lanes.

The work at the Harrisburg East Interchange is part of a $150 million project to replace the Susquehanna River Bridge, approach roadway, interchange ramps and bridges and toll plaza.
Toll-plaza construction is to be completed in late summer 2007.

Work may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA.
REMEMBER TO GIVE TURNPIKE WORKERS A "BRAKE."
