HARRISBURG, PA (April 24, 2006) – The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reports that SR 230 between T Street in the Borough of Steelton and Mumma Street in the Borough of Highspire will be closed to traffic beginning at 6:00 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2006 through 5:00 AM, Monday, May 1, 2006. Traffic signs will be posted along the detour route. Northbound SR 230 traffic will be detoured onto Eisenhower Boulevard to Paxton Street to SR 230. Southbound SR 230 traffic will be detoured onto Paxton Street to Eisenhower Boulevard to SR 230.
The detour is necessary for the erection of the new westbound Turnpike River Bridge. This work is part of the Susquehanna River Bridge Project
The work is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA, AND REMEMBER TO GIVE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE HIGHWAY WORKERS A "BRAKE."
