TRAFFIC ADVISORY

LANE RESTRICTIONS SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK FOR TURNPIKE MAINLINE NEAR WARRENDALE PLAZA AND BUTLER VALLEY INTERCHANGE

Lane restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 76 in the area of the Warrendale mainline toll plaza at Milepost 31 and near the Butler Valley interchange at Milepost 39.

The E-ZPass Express lane for eastbound traffic will be closed during off-peak daylight hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 14 through 16, for ongoing work on a $4.1 million project to replace the bridge that carried Franklin Road over the Turnpike just east of the Warrendale facility.

During closure of the E-ZPass Express lane, eastbound motorists with E-ZPass transponders will be able to use mixed-mode fare collection lanes on the south side of the Warrendale plaza.

The work will not impact the E-ZPass Express lane for westbound traffic.

Effective at 6 pm Tuesday, March 15 and continuing until 4 pm Thursday, March 17, the left lanes of the Turnpike in both directions will be closed between Milepost 37 and Milepost 41.

These restrictions in the area of the Butler Valley interchange are necessary so that crews can relocate temporary barriers and perform temporary median paving for a design/build total reconstruction of the Turnpike between Milepost 37.9 and Milepost 39.6.

Because the left-lane closures are to be continuous, motorists may encounter brief delays during the morning and afternoon peaks.
