AIRPORT ACCESS RAMP FOR SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ON ROUTE 60 EXPRESSWAY TO BE CLOSED OVERNIGHT TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

The entrance ramp proving access to Pittsburgh International Airport for motorists southbound on the Pa. Route 60 Expressway in Findlay Township, Allegheny County is scheduled for closure overnight Tuesday and Wednesday for stabilization work related to construction of the Findlay Connector's northern terminus.

Closure of the ramp at Exit #6 on Route 60 South is to be in effect from 11 pm Tuesday, June 22 until 5 am Wednesday, June 23 and from 11 pm Wednesday, June 23 until 5 am Thursday, June 24, weather permitting.

A detour will be posted. It involves exiting at McClaren Road (Exit #4), turning left onto McClaren Road at the end of the exit ramp and turning left again to get on Pa. Route 60 North from McClaren Road.

Detoured motorists will then be able to access Pittsburgh International Airport from the entrance ramp serving Route 60 North (Exit #6), which will not be affected.

The six-mile Findlay Connector, which will extend south from the Route 60 Expressway at the airport to U.S. Route 22 in Robinson Township, Washington County, is targeted for completion in Summer 2006.

It is to serve as part of the 30-plus-mile Southern Beltway system, designed to eventually link with Interstate 79 south of Bridgeville and the existing Mon/Fayette Expressway (Turnpike 43) near Finleyville in the Mon River Valley.
