SINGLE-LANE PATTERNS SCHEDULED EARLY NEXT WEEK FOR TOTAL REBUILD PROJECTS IN THE DONEGAL AND SOMERSET AREAS

Single-lane traffic patterns will be in effect on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76/I-70) early next week, weather permitting, for work associated with ongoing total reconstruction projects in the Donegal and Somerset areas. Eastbound traffic on the Turnpike will be reduced to one lane between Milepost 84 and Milepost 88 from 9 pm Sunday, June 20 until noon Tuesday, June 22.

The area is in Westmoreland County, beginning at a point nine miles east of the New Stanton interchange and continuing to a point three miles west of the Donegal interchange.

Crews will be moving barriers and performing milling and paving relative to a switch of temporary travel lanes at the western end of the total reconstruction between Milepost 85 and Milepost 94.

Westbound traffic on the Turnpike will be reduced to one lane between Milepost 116 and Milepost 113 from 5 am Monday, June 21 until 6 pm Tuesday, June 22.

Eastbound traffic in the same three-mile stretch of the Turnpike, from Milepost 113 to Milepost 116, will be reduced to one lane from 8 pm Monday, June 21 until noon Wednesday, June 23.

The area for these restrictions is in Somerset County, east of the Somerset interchange at Milepost 110. Crews will be resetting barriers and performing other tasks relative to a switch of temporary travel lanes so that total reconstruction work between Milepost 114 and 115 can begin in the middle one-third of the Turnpike.
