PA TURNPIKE CEO TO DISCUSS TOLL INCREASE

Joe Brimmeier, Chief Executive Officer of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, will hold a news conference at 12 p.m. today, January 13, at the Capitol Media Center , State Capitol Building , Harrisburg , to discuss his specific recommendation for a toll increase to ensure that America 's first and oldest superhighway remains a safe, viable means of transportation for many years. It has been more than a quarter century since the Turnpike Commission raised tolls to fund major repairs to the original roadway.

Brimmeier will be joined by three top Turnpike officials: Kevin Longenbach, chief operating officer; Blair Fishburn, chief financial officer; and Al Jansen, chief engineer. Also attending will be Captain James J. Garofalo, the commanding officer of Troop T, the State Police unit that patrols the length of the Turnpike.
