Urgent Travel Advisory

Westbound Turnpike Near Somerset Limited to Single Lane all Next Week  

The 6-mile single-lane will be in place 5 a.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Friday.

HARRISBURG, PA. (NOV. 14, 2003) — The Pennsylvania Turnpike has announced that lane restrictions will occur next week as follows:

•  DATES : A continuous single lane WESTBOUND will occur from Milepost 109 to Milepost 115 beginning 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17 until 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21. The work is weather permitting.

•  LOCATION : This work is from Milepost 109 to Milepost 115, westbound, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Somerset County.

•  TRAFFIC DELAY : Turnpike traffic may anticipate westbound delays during afternoon and early evening hours between Nov. 17 and Nov. 21.

•  ADDITIONAL INFO : Message boards will be present informing of the single lanes and Highway Advisory Radios will be broadcasting during this time.

•  PROJECT : The single lane is necessary for resetting temporary concrete barrier and other work associated with switching the westbound traffic from Milepost 109 to Milepost 115 to the next construction stage for the Turnpike's Somerset Total Reconstruction project.

MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA, AND REMEMBER TO GIVE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE HIGHWAY WORKERS A “BRAKE.”
