FOUR-HOUR PA TURNPIKE CLOSURE
PLANNED AT SOMERSET THIS WEEKEND
All traffic must exit at Somerset while crews place
beams for bridge.
HARRISBURG, PA (Sept. 4, 2003) — Pennsylvania
Turnpike traffic restrictions will occur as follows:
DATE AND TIME: Sunday, Sept. 7, 12:30 a.m. until 4:30 a.m., weather
permitting.
LOCATION: Somerset Exit 110 (Old Exit #10) to Donegal Exit 91 (Old
Exit #9).
WESTBOUND TRAFFIC: Westbound lanes between Somerset and Donegal will
be CLOSED for this four-hour period. Information on the alternate
route will be available at the Somerset Interchange for westbound
traffic exiting at Somerset and reentering at Donegal.
EASTBOUND TRAFFIC: Eastbound traffic will be restricted to a single
lane prior to Somerset Interchange. All Eastbound traffic will be
routed through the Somerset Interchange Plaza area to re-enter the
mainline system at the Somerset Interchange on ramp.
TRAFFIC CONDITION: Delays may be anticipated during the period.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Message boards will be present informing of
the traffic restrictions and Highway Advisory Radio will be broadcasting
during this time.
PROJECT: The traffic restrictions are necessary to set steel beams
on the new Somerset Interchange Overhead Ramp Bridge associated with
the milepost 109 to 122 (Somerset) Total Reconstruction Project.
MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA. REMEMBER TO GIVE
TURNPIKE WORKERS A “BRAKE.”
