The single-lane restriction, between Milepost 92.5 and MP 90.6 in southeastern Westmoreland County, is expected to be lifted by 7 pm today. Backups are probable while the single-lane setup remains in effect. To avoid the area, westbound motorists can exit the Turnpike at Somerset, pick up Pa. Route 31 West and re-enter the Turnpike at New Stanton via U.S. Route 119 North. The westbound off and on ramps at the Donegal interchange (MP 90.7) are closed until late Thursday of this week for bridge work that is part of a Total Reconstruction Project between Milepost 85 and MP 94. More information about the project, including shots from real-time
traffic cameras, is available online at www.paturnpike.com. On the
Turnpike homepage, click on “Construction/Expansion” and
then click on the “Milepost 85 to 94” wording on the Turnpike
map.
