Intermittent
stoppages and shifting traffic patterns will occur during six-night
project. HARRISBURG, Pa. (Friday, November 08, 2002) — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced today that a ramp-repaving project will take place next week at the Harrisburg East Interchange (#19/247) in Dauphin County. The work is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Monday Nov. 11 through Thursday Nov. 14 and again on Monday Nov. 18 and Tuesday Nov. 19. All work will take
place between the hours of 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. for this project. During the work hours, motorists utilizing the on an off ramps at Harrisburg East will experience intermittent stoppages and shifting traffic patterns. Flagmen will be in place during much of the operation. The work will affect both the eastbound and westbound ramps, as well as the ramp bridge that carries traffic over the Turnpike. Motorists wishing to avoid the area may choose to use the Harrisburg West Interchange (#18/242) in Cumberland County as an alternate route. All
travelers are asked to use extra caution while traveling on and by the
Harrisburg East Interchange while work is under way. This work is weather sensitive and may be postponed or rescheduled if conditions warrant. |
