TRAVEL ADVISORY:
Changing Traffic Patterns on PA Turnpike
through October 2003:  Route 309

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Turnpike is advising motorists that there will be varying single lane patterns and realigned traffic patterns eastbound and westbound between the Mid-County Interchange (Exit #25A/20) and the Willow Grove Interchange (Exit # 27/342) now through October 2003 as PENNDOT’s Route 309 reconstruction project proceeds and impacts Turnpike traffic.

PENNDOT is widening Turnpike shoulders leading to and from Route 309 via the Fort Washington Interchange (Exit #26/338) and replacing the Turnpike bridge and the Summit Avenue bridge that crosses over Route 309. Crews will mainly work non-peak hours on the Turnpike, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 8 p.m. Fridays to 5 a.m. Mondays on non-holiday weekends. All lanes will be open on holidays and holiday weekends.

Variable message signs (VMS) with Route 309 project updates are posted on the Turnpike and traffic advisories will be issued as warranted. Additional project information can be found at www.paturnpike.com, go to General Information, Turnpike Links, Turnpike Links Page, then Regional Travel and Advisory Links. Or log on to www.309online.com.
