TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
Single Lane, Alternating Traffic Pattern on Tap
for PA Route 88 Next Week in Area of Ringgold High School

Effective Monday, Oct. 22 and continuing for approximately one week, during daylight hours only, traffic on a short stretch of Pa. Route 88 near Ringgold High School will be restricted to a single-lane, alternating pattern.

Flaggers will control traffic flow while crews perform paving and shoulder work on Route 88 and a piece of Ginger Hill Road (State Route 1087) at its junction with Route 88.

There will be no posted detour.

The construction site is in Union Township, Washington County, under 250-foot-high dual bridges that have been built to carry the Mon/Fayette Expressway over the Mingo Creek valley and a Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad trestle.

The dual bridges are on the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s 17-mile Mon/Fayette Expressway Project that extends north from Interstate 70 and Turnpike 43 in Fallowfield Township, Washington County to Pa. Route 51 in Jefferson Hills Borough, Allegheny County.

Four miles of the project, from I-70 north to Coyle Curtin Road, opened on May 11 of this year. The Turnpike Commission will open the remaining 13 miles in Spring 2002.
