TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
E-ZPass Preparatory Work Will Have One Lane Closed at
Cranberry Interchange through Wednesday, October 17

Preparations are continuing for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s mid-December implementation of E-Z Pass, an electronic toll collection system, in western Pennsylvania and work is now in progress at the Cranberry Interchange.

Motorists exiting at Cranberry can expect delays during the morning and late afternoon peaks tomorrow and Friday as well as next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Current work at the Cranberry Interchange, including the installation of sensors to classify vehicles and receive signals from E-ZPass transponders, is scheduled to conclude late Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The Cranberry Interchange handles daily traffic volumes of approximately 23,000 vehicles.

Two alternative routes for westbound traffic headed to the Cranberry area are Pa. Route 910 and Pa. Route 228. Both are accessible from Pa. Route 8 North after exiting at the Butler Valley interchange.
