TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
Lane Restrictions on Turnpike Mainline Will Precede 
Next Week's Closure of PA Route 168 for Overhead Bridge Replacement        

Effective Monday, Oct. 8 and continuing for approximately three weeks, both inside lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike at and approaching Milepost 7.2 will be closed so that crews can construct piers for a new overhead bridge.

The construction site is in New Beaver Borough, Lawrence County, where Pa. Route 168 crosses over Interstate 76. Traffic will slow in the area of the lane closures and motorists should anticipate occasional delays. 

Effective Thursday, Oct. 11, Route 168 will be closed at the site and will remain closed until late June 2002.

The bridge replacement project, the initial phase of an extensive reconstruction and widening of the Turnpike between the Gateway toll barrier and Milepost 10, is contracted to M.A. Beech Corporation of Carnegie in the amount of $2.6 million.
