TRAVEL ADVISORY:
Bridge Work Necessitates Sporadic 30-Minute Closures of PA Turnpike in Somerset
Half-hour closures will begin at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18.


Harrisburg, PA
– The Pennsylvania Turnpike today announced that intermittent traffic stoppages of 30 minutes each will occur at milepost 117 between the Somerset Interchange (#10) and Bedford Interchange (#11).

Weather permitting, the stoppages will begin at 10 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 18 and will end at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

All eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed during stoppages.

These traffic stoppages are for the erecting of steel girders for an overhead bridge in Somerset.

MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA, 
AND REMEMBER TO GIVE HIGHWAY WORKERS A “BRAKE.”
