TRAVEL ADVISORY:
Turnpike Traffic Near Somerset will be Stopped Periodically
During Overnight Hours Wednesday for Bridge Work

Intermittent traffic stoppages of about 30 minutes will occur between 10 PM Wednesday, July 18 and 6 AM Thursday, July 19 near Milepost 120 on the Interstate 76/I-70 mainline so that crews can erect concrete beams for a new overhead bridge.

All traffic, eastbound and westbound, will be affected.

The construction site is in Stoneycreek Township, Somerset County, approximately 10 miles east of the Somerset interchange. A new bridge is being built there to carry State Route 1007 (Shanksville Road) over the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Shanksville Road has been closed at the site since April 30. It will reopen in late November.
