TRAVEL ADVISORY:
Pennsylvania Turnpike Closes Road to Westbound Travelers 
from Donegal Interchange to New Stanton Interchange
Shift in Shoring Forces Road Closure

Due to a shift in shoring at a bridge construction site at Milepost 80.8, the Pennsylvania Turnpike has been closed westbound between the Donegal Interchange # 9 and the New Stanton Interchange # 8. The repair work is expected to take at least eight hours and possibly up to 24 hours. Motorists traveling the Turnpike are being directed off the Turnpike at Donegal and being allowed back on either at New Stanton # 8 or Irwin # 7. Toll collectors will be handing out detour cards at the Donegal Interchange. See specific detour routes below.

Turnpike officials are advising motorists, if possible, to avoid the area entirely and find alternate routes of travel.

Detour routes are the following: All traffic traveling Westbound must exit Donegal Interchange #9 and reroute to New Stanton Interchange #8. Car traffic will travel Rt.31 West to Rt. 982 South to Rt.119 North and re-enter the Turnpike at New Stanton Interchange #8.

Commercial Traffic continuing travel West on the Turnpike will exit Donegal Interchange #9 and take Rt.31 East to Rt.711 North to Route 30 West. Re-enter at Irwin Interchange #7.

Commercial traffic wishing to travel to I-70 West take Rt.31 East to Route 711 North to Rt.30 West to Pa. Turnpike 66 South. Re-enter at I-70 West.
