TRAVEL ADVISORY: Effective Wednesday, April 11 and continuing until late November, two secondary roads just west of the Donegal interchange in Westmoreland County will be closed where they cross over the Pennsylvania Turnpike. In both instances, the bridges that carry the roads over the Interstate 76/I-70 mainline will be removed and replaced. A&L, Inc. of Belle Vernon, PA is the general contractor. The affected routes are SR 2002 (Main Street) in Donegal Township and SR 2025 (Clay Pike Road) in Mount Pleasant Township. Detours are posted. Traffic normally crossing over the Turnpike via SR 2002 on what is known locally as the West End Bridge is to use Pa. Route 711. Alternative crossings for Clay Pike Road are Mount Pleasant Township Road 872 (Freeman Falls Road) for motorists heading north to south and Mount Pleasant Township Road 876 (Keyser Road) for motorists heading south to north. |
