PA TURNPIKE & TEAMSTERS UNION
REACH A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

CARLISLE, PA. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced Friday morning that it has reached a tentative labor-contract settlement with Turnpike toll collectors, maintenance workers and other field personnel. Officials said contract terms would not be released until the union membership votes on the proposal over the next several weeks.

Turnpike Executive Director John T. Durbin praised the negotiating teams representing the union and the Commission for their "perseverance and initiative in resolving the issues, reaching an agreement and averting a work stoppage."

"Both sides have emerged from this process as winners," Durbin said. "The biggest winner, however, is the Turnpike customer. The resolution of our contract issues with our valued union employees reflects our commitment to our customers. Customer service and safety are our highest priorities."
