TRAVEL ADVISORY:
Intermittent Traffic Stoppages Scheduled Tuesday for 
Removal of Overhead Bridge in Eastern Westmoreland County

Intermittent traffic stoppages lasting up to 15 minutes will occur between 7 am and 2 pm Tuesday, Oct. 31 for removal of an overhead bridge at Milepost 91.9 on the Interstate 76/I-70 mainline.

All eastbound and westbound traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be affected by the stoppages, which will allow crews to remove steel girders from the span. Demolition work has been progressing this week under periodic, single-lane restrictions.

The bridge being removed carried Old Snyder Road over the Turnpike in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County, just east of the Donegal interchange (Exit #9). It will not be replaced.

Message boards and Highway Advisory Radio frequencies will be utilized to alert motorists approaching the deconstruction site.
