Traffic Stoppages Will Continue this Weekend at Milepost 112
Overhead Bridge Replacement Project in Somerset County

Intermittent traffic stoppages will resume at 6 pm Saturday, Oct. 7 and continue overnight until 10 am Sunday, Oct. 8 at a Turnpike site in Somerset County where a new overhead bridge is being built.

The construction site is at Milepost 112 in Somerset Borough, where steel is being set for a new span to carry Pa. Route 31 over the Interstate 76/Interstate 70 mainline.

All eastbound and westbound traffic is affected during stoppages, which generally do not exceed 30 minutes.

If the work scheduled for Saturday night/Sunday morning is postponed because of weather conditions or other factors, the period of 10 pm Monday, Oct. 9 until 10 am Tuesday, Oct. 10 will be utilized instead.

Pa. Route 31 has been closed at the bridge replacement site since April 10, 2000. It is scheduled to reopen by November 17, 2000.

IA Construction of Concordville, PA is the general contractor.
