TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
Ongoing Mon/Fayette Expressway Construction Affecting Two Local Roads

Ongoing construction of the 17-mile Mon/Fayette Expressway Project north from Interstate 70 to Pa. Route 51 necessitates traffic restrictions on two side roads that will take effect Monday, July 24.

¨ In Jefferson Hills Borough, Allegheny County, Payne Hill Road will be closed at its intersection with Route 51 so that utility lines can be relocated. The utility relocations are required for construction of the expressway project's northern terminus and interchange with Route 51.

The closure period will not exceed three months.

During the period, motorists typically using Payne Hill Road as an access to or from Route 51 will be detoured to Pa. Route 885 and Lewis Run Road (SR 2032) or vice-versa. Payne Hill Road will remain open east of its intersection with Route 51 so that homes and businesses there can be accessed.

¨ In Carroll Township, Washington County, traffic on Park Avenue Extension (SR 2023) will be subjected to an alternating single lane or intermittent stoppages so that crews can safely erect steel beams and perform deck construction for a bridge that will carry the expressway over Park Avenue Extension and Pigeon Creek.

The alternating single lane and intermittent stoppages will occur at the bridge site during daylight hours only, through November . The bridge construction site is approximately three-quarters of a mile west of Park Avenue Extension's intersection with Pa. Route 481.

Flaggers will control traffic flow. Traffic stoppages may last up to 30 minutes. No detour will be posted.
