TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
PART OF FINLEYVILLE-ELRAMA ROAD TO CLOSE 
FOR FOUR MONTHS STARTING MONDAY

Starting Monday, May 1 and effective through Thursday, August 24, 2000, Finleyville-Elrama Road (S.R. 1006) in Union Township, Washington County will be closed between Patterson Road (Township Road 992) and Belmont Avenue (Township Road 994) for reconstruction of a bridge over Peters Creek.

The bridge work is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s ongoing construction of the 17-mile Mon/Fayette Expressway Project north from Interstate 70 in Fallowfield Township, Washington County to Pa. Route 51 in Jefferson Hills Borough, Allegheny County. The closure will occur near the village of Gastonville, just west of the expressway’s mainline and its interchange with Finleyville-Elrama Road.

Mon/Fayette Expressway Construction Section 52H, contracted to New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company of Bedford County in the amount of $49.2 million, includes the interchange and the reconstruction of sections of Finleyville-Elrama Road and Patterson Road. Finleyville-Elrama Road will be more than 41 feet wide where it will cross over Peters Creek on the rebuilt structure. It is 23 feet wide on the present span.

A detour utilizing Stone Church Road (S.R. 1008), Aber Road (Township Road 862), Lobbs Run Road (Township Road 863) and Finleyville-Elrama Road will be posted.
