TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
COURTNEY HILL ROAD IN THE NEW
EAGLE AREA OF WASHINGTON COUNTY CLOSED

Effective this morning, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission closed Courtney Hill Road in the New Eagle area of Washington County as part of its construction of the Mon/Fayette Expressway.

Courtney Hill Road (State Route 1065) is an east-west connector between Pa. Route 837 and Pa. Route 88, the two major north-south arteries serving the mid-Mon Valley.

It has been closed as a through road between Route 837 and Patterson Road (Union Township Road 992) for approximately two months.

A detour utilizing Pa. Route 88 and Pa. Route 837 has been posted. Locations east and west of the closure remain accessible to local traffic. The Turnpike Commission expects to be able to reopen Courtney Hill Road on Monday, Nov. 16.

It will be lowered and rebuilt in the area of the closure to allow for the construction of dual bridges that will carry the Mon/Fayette Expressway over Courtney Hill Road.
