TRAVEL ADVISORY:
SINGLE-LANE PATTERN AND 40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT
ON TURNPIKE IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY

Harrisburg, PA -- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is alerting motorists that a single lane pattern and 40 m.p.h. speed restriction will be in effect from Milepost 94 to Milepost 99.3 EASTBOUND beginning Monday August 2nd at 8:00 P.M. through Wednesday August 4th at noon. These lane restrictions will affect ONLY EASTBOUND traffic travelling between the Donegal (Exit 9) and Somerset Interchanges (Exit 10) on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Westmoreland County.

The single lane pattern is being installed to move the temporary concrete barrier in that section of roadway and to move eastbound Turnpike traffic onto a recently completed new section of roadway. Variable message boards have been in place since July 26th alerting motorists of the construction. This construction is part of the total roadway reconstruction project of mileposts 94 to 99 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Delays are anticipated during daylight hours, especially on Tuesday August 3rd in the afternoon and early evening hours. Turnpike travelers may want to use an alternate route on Tuesday, during this time. A suggested route is as follows:

Turnpike customers traveling east can exit at Donegal Interchange #9 (milepost 90.7) to State Route 31 East, to State Route 281 North, to the Gilmore Bypass and re-enter the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Somerset Interchange #10 (milepost 109.9).

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission urges all travelers in this area to remain alert and use caution in this and all construction areas.
