PITTSBURGH INTERCHANGE (EXIT 6) IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is alerting motorists that the ramp bridge running over State Route 22 and Interstate 376 at the Pittsburgh Interchange, which carries Turnpike traffic from the Pittsburgh Interchange to SR 22 west and I-376, will be reduced to a single, 11-foot wide lane, beginning Tuesday May 11, 1999.

This ramp bridge is being replaced with a new steel structure in construction phases. This lane restriction will be in effect through the end of 1999.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists that delays are possible during peak traffic hours through this entire construction phase. Motorists are urged to take needed precautions for their travels in this area and to use caution in this and all construction areas.
