The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is alerting motorists that the removal of two bridges running over the Turnpike at mileposts 112.8 and 113.5 will require the installation of a single lane, crossover pattern and periodic traffic stoppages at mileposts 112 through 114 between the Somerset (Exit 10) and Bedford (Exit 11) Interchanges in Somerset County. The traffic restrictions are needed for safety purposes during the construction work. The single lane, crossover pattern and stoppages will last two weeks, beginning Sunday April 18 through Friday April 23, and Sunday April 25 through Friday April 30, 1999. Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be open the weekend of April 23rd. The installation of the single lane using a crossover pattern is scheduled from 9:00P.M. each Sunday until Noon each Friday. During these time frames, traffic will be subject to periodic stoppages. Turnpike travelers are advised to expect delays and to take needed precautions for their travels on the Turnpike in this area. Motorists are also urged to use caution in this and all construction areas and remember to give Pennsylvania Turnpike Highway Workers a "Brake." |
