TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
TRAFFIC STOPPAGES ON INTERSTATE 76/I-70 PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE MAINLINE

Intermittent stoppages of all traffic on the Interstate 76/I-70 Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline will occur (weather permitting) on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at milepost 94.3 in southeastern Westmoreland County, so that construction crews can erect steel girders for a new overhead bridge.

DATE AND TIMES

Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998. Intermittent traffic stoppages of no longer than 15 minutes will occur between 9 AM and 4 PM.

LOCATION

Milepost 94.3 in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County, between the Donegal interchange (#9) and the Somerset interchange (#10).

PROJECT

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is erecting a steel girder bridge to carry Donegal Township Road 339 (Franklin Road) over the Interstate 76/I-70 mainline. The reinforced concrete bridge that had carried Franklin Road was removed in September 1998. Franklin Road remains closed at the site. It will re-open in Summer 1999.
