The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists of intermittent traffic stoppages at milepost 172.43 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Sideling Hill Service Plaza between the Breezewood (Exit 12) and Fort Littleton (Exit 13) Interchanges on Tuesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 31, 1997, weather permitting.

Westbound traffic will be subject to the intermittent stoppages between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 29. East and westbound traffic will be subject to the intermittent stoppages between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 31. The stoppages will be no longer than 15 minutes in duration on both days.

The stoppages are necessary for the removal of the existing concrete beams from the bridge running over the Turnpike at milepost 172.43. The bridge carries eastbound Turnpike traffic to and from the Sideling Hill Service Plaza.

Westbound travellers should expect delays on Tuesday, July 29, while both east and westbound travellers should expect delays on Thursday, July 31. Travellers are advised to watch for variable message signs cautioning motorists of construction delays and are urged to use caution in this and all construction areas.
