PENNSYLVANIA-MADE CRAFTS CENTER AND TRAVELER INFORMATION
CENTER TO BE DEDICATED
ZELIENOPLE -- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission today
announced that the new Pennsylvania-Made Crafts Center and Traveler
Information Center, located at the Zelienople Service Plaza,
milepost 21.7, eastbound, will be dedicated at a ribbon cutting
ceremony, September 24th at 11:00 A.M.
Turnpike Executive Director John T. Durbin, who will attend
the opening along with Turnpike Commissioner Robert A. Gleason,
Jr., said, "The Commission is always striving to serve Turnpike
travelers in new and creative ways. The opening of the Turnpike's
crafts centers is just another way we are achieving that goal."
Also attending the Zelienople event will be Alice Eakin,
President of Pennsylvania-Made Crafts, Inc. The organization
worked closely with the Commission to select the crafts of some of
Pennsylvania's finest artists and craftspersons what will be
available for Turnpike travelers to see and purchase.
A newly expanded Traveler Information Center which will
provide the motoring public with the most up-to-date travel and
tourist information will also be dedicated as part of the ceremony.
The other crafts center/traveler information center, located
in eastern Pennsylvania at the North Neshaminy Service Plaza, will
be dedicated on Wednesday, September 25, 1996.
The Pennsylvania-Made Craft Centers' hours are 8 A.M. to 4:30
P.M. Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday and 8 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
Tuesday and Thursday. The crafts centers are closed on Wednesdays.
The Traveler Information Centers are open daily from 8:30 A.M.
until 4:00 P.M.
