TRAFFIC ADVISORY
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists
of lane reductions and a speed limit reduction on Interstate 70
Westbound between Speers (EXIT 16) and Lover (EXIT 14) beginning
Monday, September 16, 1996 through Thursday, October 31, 1996.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in the first few days
of this project to reset the lanes, as well as in the last few
days of the project, to set them back to normal.
The left lane is being reduced to an 11-foot lane, and the
right lane is being reduced to a 10-foot lane. The speed limit
will be reduced to 45 M.P.H. in the construction area through the
duration of the project.
Acceleration and deceleration lanes for ramps from I-70 to
SR43 are being constructed as part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike
Commission's Mon/Fayette Expressway Project between I-70 and
SR51.
MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA AND REMEMBER TO
GIVE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE HIGHWAY WORKERS A "BRAKE".
